Podcasts
I could see podcast being used by patrons as another source for research or adding to a computer presentation with "expert" podcast to back up what is being said in your presentation. Podcasts used To learn more about a topic and not have to read but just listen also good for auditory learners to use to pick up information of use to them. I wasn't able to add the podcast I wanted to my bloglines so was rather frustrating.

I like the pinky tones in your blog. My friend librarykitty has pinky tones, and he's a cutie. Or she. I'm not sure which.
Don't worry too much about not being successful with podcasts in bloglines. Bloglines was never designed for podcasts. It should work in a pinch but you'll probably need a podcatcher like Juice or iTunes to really make podcasts usable.
